Advertising policies and algorithms from Facebook, Instagram, and Google have been rejecting ads for adaptive-wear brands made for people with disabilities. Facebook/Instagram’s advertising policy (which relies on automated algorithms) bans disabilities and medical conditions from being presented in advertisements because Facebook believes this prevents “poor ad experiences” for their users. Advertisements of adaptive-wear brands on these platforms also trigger the content to be flagged for “inappropriate content” and violations of community guidelines.
